Welcome!
Welcome to the Treffen #25 Forum. I was going to re-link the old forum that had posts from Treffen 23 and Treffen 24, but it had been taken over by 1000's of SPAM posts, over 5,000 pages!
I've tightened the security down on this version, so if it doesn't let you do something it should, let me know.
The bummer is everyone will have to register again-- there was 1000's of users and I couldn't parse out/save the legitimate names.
Please do register, this is a MUCH BETTER means of communication than Facebook for sure. Once a few days passes on Facebook, it's next to impossible to look up old information, as it disappears into the feed.
Thanks!

Re: Welcome!
I would again like to apologize for the confusion and mayhem that happened in my little town of Crescent City. I can understand your wanting to barely slow down here on the way to the US/Mexico Border this year.. BUT, if anyone feels like meeting up somewhere, I'd love to do that, and I sure I could round up some troops to join me..As well, Mike Slavec has offered his very sizable yard for anyone wanting to camp out, I believe he is getting quotes for a couple of sink included Porta-Pottys for the night and morning. If I can do anything to help anyone, please let me know, I can be reached either on here, e-mail kaferdave@charter.net, or text (760) 807-6012

Re: Welcome!
Thanks, Dave!
There was a bit of confusion last year, but thankfully, zero mayhem . We ended up having a great dinner at SeaQuake Brewing. Night and day experience compared to our last couple of attempts at Fisherman's.
Mike messaged me on Facebook, it sounds like an awesome location. I'll post the itinerary in two weeks, that gives us some time to figure it out. It was super nice of him to offer.

Re: Welcome!
We are looking forward to joining in our 4th time. We've done one start-to finish when it was Portland to Ventura. We haven't done border to border yet, so this will be our first. We'll meet you in Blaine and do the ferry together Andre. We're also coming from the San Diego area.
As I'm sure is true for many, the Treffen is always an incentive to complete some projects. Hopefully they go well this time. We look forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones. Brad & Susanna in the "BumbleGhia" (as we got named on our first Treffen)
As always, thank you for all the work you do to organize this eclectic group of Volkswagen nutcases.

Re: Welcome!
You’ll only need ferry reservations if you’re crossing the Port Townsend/Keystome ferry from Whidbey Island, which you’d do if your were starting in Blaine

Re: Welcome!
planning for my first border to border Treffen. Is there a day by day list of stops somewhere?
Also, If I’m joining you folks in Blaine it looks like you’re saying meet up the morning of Thursday July 20 and make a reservation on the 2:45 Coupeville to Port Townsend Ferry? What time are you reserving for the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry?

Re: Welcome!
You can only make reservations on the Port Townsend run, it’s a small ferry and they run every 90 minutes. Mukilteo runs every half hour….DonVWMiller wrote: ↑Tue May 02, 2023 5:06 pm planning for my first border to border Treffen. Is there a day by day list of stops somewhere?

You don’t need to take the Mukilteo boat if you’re coming from Blaine, far quicker and prettier too come across the Deception Pass bridge . I’d suggest Chuckanut down from Bellingham instead of 1-5:-)
We live on Whidbey and won’t be starting in Blaine:-)
If the itinerary isn’t out yet it will be before too long;-)

Is there an itinerary yet? Even a rough day-to-day plan?
